It features geometric patterns with motifs of Islamic flowers, clouds, and waves. Craftspeople tend to have rhythmic movement during the process of engraving into the wood & during the printing process.Fair-trade! Khamir, an NGO ethical platform where these fabrics are made in the Kutch region of Gujarat: ○ The Kutch region is a long-established place of handicrafts, hand-woven fabrics, batiks, and embroidery. It is also a desert region on the border with Pakistan and suffered great damage from water issues & a record bracingly massive earthquake in 2001. ○ NGO “Khamir” was established in 2001 after the earthquake to support the local craftspeople & to send traditional goods and techniques of the Kachchh region to the rest of the world.
