The Orange Shoulder Tang (Acanthurus olivaceus), also known as the Orangeband Surgeonfish, the Orangespot Surgeonfish, or the Orange Epaulette Surgeonfish, as a beautifully colored tang native to the tropical reefs of the Indo-Pacific. As these fish mature, their coloration changes from mostly yellow with blue fringed fins on juveniles to gray with an orange and blue stripe behind the eye on adults. The Orange Shoulder Tang is considered reef-safe. They require seaweed and algae-based food but will also snack on supplemented meaty foods. With the potential to grow over a foot long, make sure that you provide this active fish with plenty of swimming room!
