It’s traditionally made up of 108 beads and gem beads. This is a universal mantra of love and compassion. Today, you will see many yoga practitioners adorned with a japa mala necklace and/or bracelet. It began being used in Tibetan Buddhism to count the repetition of prayer recitation such as “Om mani padme hum” which means literally translates to “Praise to the Jewel in the Lotus.” It is said that the beads are used by different denominations such as Catholicism and Christianity as well. In India, the most common beads used are “Rudrakh” (bodhi fruit) the symbol of Shiva, and “Tulsi” the symbol of Vishnu.A single bead is one cycle of singing/saying prayer. When a single cycle is complete, the finger moves to the next bead. The power of the mantra remains in the beads, and that power becomes energy and re-energizes the wearer every time it is adorned. The accented tassel is made from 100% silk that feels good on the skin.About Rudraksha.Rudraksha, the sacred fruit of the Bodhi Kongo tree is said to be “the tears of Shiva”. In Hinduism, it is believed to have the power of Lord Shiva, and it is worn as a mala for protection. It has a high purification effect, and it is said that the body and mind are purified when worn. It also exerts strong power as a repellent.Since Shiva is called the “founder of yoga”, many yogis wear Rudraksha. It is said to have a sedative effect (stabilizing the mind) and is also used as a tool for Japanese Buddhism meditation (mantra meditation).Care for Rudraksha * Rudraksha is a natural nut. Please note that each piece has its own individuality and may vary in size.*In India, mala necklaces stay in close contact with my skin. By wearing it every day, it absorbs sweat and sebum, and the color gradually changes to candy. Enjoy aging.*Since Rudraksha is vulnerable to dryness, occasionally massage it with oil for maintenance. Sandalwood oil is common, but any oil will do. By rubbing the oil, the color also changes and becomes a candy color.
